What types of payments are available for me to work with?

Please note that payments need to clear before an item can be shipped. E-checks are available when using Paypal and may require approximately a week for clearing.
Paypal also offers additional protective services for online shoppers that might not be available when using other payment types.

IF you have received an item and there is any breakage, DO NOT GET RID OF ANY OF THE PACKAGING. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALSO KEEP ANY LABELS, and THE INSURANCE LABEL.
The Post Office has advised me that a customer is the one who is responsible for placing an insurance claim. When I ship a package and have added insurance for higher end items, I retain a half of the insurance form. I need to send this to you in order for a claim to be considered.
The Post Office told me that this procedure is in place to safeguard againt lost items and potential mail fraud.
Does your shop accept returns?
Yes. I shop online also. I sincerely try to treat each customer in the same way that I would want to be treated by a business. If for any reason, you want or need to return an item, please get in touch with me.

Since each sale and each customer's needs are unique, returns will be handled on a case to case basis. I do need to be notified prior to a return for proper record keeping purposes and so that I can best "fix any propblems".
How do your shipping rates work?
I have found that I can offer better overall rates by working with fixed rate shipping. I ship rapidly, usually within 24 hours. I choose the most economical service based upon your location, and the size and weight of the items purchased.
Ecrater does have calculated shipping. I have opted to work with the fixed shipping format to help my customers avoid sticker shock. Some of my items have subtantial "shipping weight". Calculated shipping does not allow you to see the item's entire price until you have progressed through checkout.
I will combine the shipping costs for multiple purchases, whenever possible* and issue refunds for shipping quote overages after postage costs and packaging are subbed out via Paypal where applicable.
My shipping quote is inclusive. it covers the packaging materials, actual postage, delivery confirmation and insurance for higher end items.
* There may be occasions when each item requires its own box for item safety purposes.
I have concerns about a vintage items condition
There are rating charts that will describe how various collectible and antique items are graded for condition. These descriptions are still essentially subjective oppinions. What is acceptable to one person may not be the oppinion of the next person.
I do my best to only offer items that I believe are in good condition and free of major damage. Depression glassware may have usage marks. Pottery and China can show crazing with age. There are also pieces that still have value with minor chipping and may be offered. I will do my best to show any damage to a piece within the pictures. It will be described. But again, my oppinion may not be the same as yours.

Vintage and antique items are old. Porous items like woods, paper goods and certain cloth items might not be able to be thoroughly cleaned prior to sale. They may have been exposed to smoke and pets, or have come from less than pristine environments.
Non-porous items do not present any problems and have been cleaned and sanitised prior to shipping.
Paper goods, unfinshed wood, delicate linens, or linens with their original labels or packaging, may be sold without being cleaned. IF an item is being sold in an "AS IN" condition, it will be stated within its description.
Does Ecrater employ a feedback system?
Yes, there is a feedback system within Ecrater to help shoppers learn about how the shops here operate and interact with their customer base.
My one request regarding feedback:
If there is a problem with your purchase, can you please get in touch with me prior to leaving feedback? Things do occasionally go wrong. I will do what I can to correct any problems that you may have experianced.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time I only offer shipping within the United States. Alot of my items go past the 4 pound limit allowed for First Class international shipping. I don't feel that the shipping costs that I would have to charge a customer justifies the value of the items.
I will be looking into what options can be offered, in the future.
